SYNOPSIS:

In Black Cat Root Lucía Yépez, through the stylized and seductive image of felines, has managed to extract multiple and unlimited games of seduction and an immense charge of power: murderous cats, voracious tiger lovers, through which the poet launches her voice according to each passion she goes through.

Black, witches, night and meows orchestrate this collection of poems. It is peculiar the inclusion of elements of the contemporary environment that the poet makes, a landing of her cat world in this other medium and which she uses to share another space with the reader. Under this action appear the Beatles, Charlie Parker, Stravinsky, Shakespeare and an AK47, rough ingredients that add an unusual flavor to her lyric. In addition, in Black Cat Root Lucía exposes a suggestive and ironic relationship between religion, in a version as spiritual as carnal, and the purest sexual act: she emphasizes lust and points out Christian symbols right after the sexual act, thus generating deeper impacts in many of her readers. Lucía's verses break down trancas and run wild to pierce consciences. Let's read Black Cat Root.
